Livingstone Lockers 3-1 RECREATIVO 1.4.12.

It was April Fool's Day today and Livingstone Lockers made a fool out of us. Maybe the name change of the opposition, formerly known as 'Academicals', or the disappointment of losing the week before to Sloane and the prospect of another year without silverware in the trophy cabinet, made for a tougher than expected game. This was a game that a few weeks ago was a guaranteed 3 points for us. No Liam up front, so Connor, on his return from a three match ban, played forward with Joe H alongside. We dominated the first half, creating chances but as usual not punishing the opposition by putting the ball in the net ! They did have a semi-pro in goal apparently and it showed, he dominated his area and made a few fine saves.

New recruit from Adam's Amnesty Academy, Patrick, made his debut at left back after Paul seemed to be suffering from the effects of the night before and finding it difficult to breathe and asked to be subbed. We came in at half-time 1-1. Patrick, possibly because he was playing out of position seemed like a fish out of water at left back, he was subbed so Paul could come back on in the second half.

As is often the case this season when things aren't going well, we start to lose concentration and our formation was non existent in the second half. When we went forward we attacked in numbers but as soon as we lost the ball no one was tracking back which gave their midfield acres of space to pass the ball around and numbers to attack our defence. On our second half performance we deserved to lose, and if we continue to play as we did today I doubt if we can achieve Runners up by winning our remaining games.

Team : Joe G, Paul (Pat), Rob, Joao, Tomas, Ben, Dan H, Dan D, Aaron, Joe H, Connor - watching on the sidelines pulling the remaining of his locks out, Mario.
