Top marks to the team's defending throughout the game. We couldn't remember the last time we successfully defended ten corners in one half without conceding, but we kept Chippy out like our lives depended on it. Liam charged back, pouncing onto any loose ball like a man possessed, setting up another Reccy counter attack. Joe D was the top man in the first half, volunteering for goalkeeper duty and putting in a fantastic shift between the sticks (could possibly be the answer to Arsenal's ongoing goalkeeper problem?).
With the wind behind us in the second half, we tore through Jeff's Chippy, Ben grabbing two well taken goals. David (playing only his second game for the team) made an unstoppable charge down the left wing, drove a low ball across the box and Liam duly smashed it home to give us a comfortable win.
A big pat on the back for Jeff's Chippy who proved to be a decent bunch of lads and contributed to one of the most enjoyable games that we had played in for sometime. So, Recreativo are flying again, spirits are up and everyone's happy. Next up, Rio, in Wandsworth Park. Let's be 'aving ya...
