Lyric Celtic 0-2 RECREATIVO 4.3.10

We arrived at Clapham Common wondering if we were the only team in South London who had chose to ignore the resurrection of our dear Lord Jesus and fulfill an Easter fixture as the park was deserted and silent. We had our own resurrection to concentrate on, as Recreativo have risen up the ranks with a fantastic set of recent results.
As always, we square up the opposition as we go through our warm up. Lyric have some big lads in their team, but that means little if the ball is kept on the floor. And for large periods of the game that's what we done. Once again our younger lads played tight threaded through balls in and
around Lyric's defence, both Connor and Max giving them the run around. Nick and Marcus broke up much of their midfield and as always Jimmy Lloyd steadied our backline, mopping up intelligently. A great goal for debutant Ben was followed by another Joe Dunthorne strike, pushing into the box from a Recreativo corner.
Those of us who had retired to the subs bench witnessed a very fine game of football played out there today, Recreativo's second half display dominant, having the wind behind us. Aaron stood out as man of the match in the second half, linking up well with our forwards and always chasing back and retrieving the ball, Rooney-style, if our team lost it. Every player gave it their all once more today and fully deserved the win. Beaming smiles, tired legs and Caramel Chunky Kit Kats on the way home as the in car banter turned to Viagra, "X Factor" legal ecstasy, living in Brazil, more sex, the Sun vs the Guardian, before steak pie, red wine and Everton vs the Hammers waited at home. It's fantastic playing for this football team. Recreativo have risen. May the Lord bless them all.
