SS Ladzio 1-1 RECREATIVO 9.9.12.

Recreativo travelled to Regents Park for the first away day of the season.

And Aaron was the mane man as his goal helped take a point off Ladzio in the shadow of London Zoo. Incredibly for a Sunday league side, we turned up with two players too many.

So the ref - claiming it was not up to him, but "up to FIFA" -insisted we trim our 16-man squad to 14. Well, seedy Sepp Blatter would have loved it in Regents Park with girls stripping off everywhere in the sun.

But it was less fun on the pitch as Reccy were made to work in the heat. Joe G had rushed back from giving swimming lessons - and kept us afloat in the first half.

One save, in particular, was a brilliant diving tip over the bar when their man look certain to score. Reccy held on for half-time and came in with faces the colour of our shirts. But it was Ladzio who were in the red soon after as Aaron slotted home to put us 1-0 up.

Some tidy work in the midfield from Max helped carve out a few chances- although they came to nothing. But just as it looked like we might get the win their left-winger broke free and levelled.

It hurt, but 1-1 was a fair result. And a proper, pools-panel busting score to boot. After years on Clapham Common, Ladzio have finally seen the light and upped sticks to North London. Which is just as well, because we're heading back there in the cup next week!
